Beer for Pittsburgh Brewmasters?

Posted in

Hello everyone.

So for the PGH Brewmasters tasting on the 17th, as of right now I am supplying an American Brown Ale and Chris Meta is supplying an IPA. I just got an email from Christine; she is asking the names of the brewers for this event. I imagine Chip has more important things to worry about, so I assume he will not be supplying the hefeweisen. Of perhaps he did brew it and gave it to someone to bring to the tasting. Chip, if you still check TRASH Talk from your new temporary home, please let me know what's up. Or if anyone else knows, pass on the info. If we currently do not have a hefeweisen, I will brew one this week, but I'd like to know ASAP, like by Wednesday, so I can get a starter going. Hopefully this beer can be ready to serve in 1.5 weeks! I think since it is generally fairly cloudy and probably best drank fresh it should be fine. If I don't hear anything by Wednesday, I will just go ahead and brew it.

Also, do we have a fourth beer? I don't think I can swing brewing that also so please let me know if we have that beer. I think the idea was a tripel. Any takers?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

I could offer up a bonus brew?

Hey, I've got a brew or 2 that I could bring to the Brewmasters tasting either as a sub for the tripel, or as a bonus 5th beer selection. I've got a porter that is ready to keg, and maybe a wheat wine (if I can taste it first for approval)!!

Beer for Brew Masters

Mike,

How did Cristine get you for the contact for this event? Anyways, as far as supplying the beer for this event. Chip gave me his heffe-weizen and it is sitting in my basement waiting for the brew masters to drink it. You have the Brown and I believe Chris Meta volunteered the clubs Douple IPA. I was supposed to brew a tripple, but that never happened. So I was think we could use my APA instead. That would give us this final Brewer/Beer Combo.

Brown Ale = Mike Task
Heffe-Weizen = Chip Reich
American Pale Ale = Peter Kozlowski
Imperial/Double Pale Ale = Chris Meta / Keith Kost

How does this sound to you? Also, if someone else out there has a tripple that would like to volunteer up for this event. I'd gladly let them have my spot for the beer I didn't brew. Let me know what you think.

Hopefully all is well down south.

Brew Masters

When I got the email reminder to RSVP for the upcoming tasting, I emailed Christine to ask if the people from TRASH who were brewing beer needed to RSVP. When she replied, she asked me about the names of the brewers.

I think the lineup sounds just fine. I will email Christine and let her know, if there are no objections.

I brewed a straight IPA last

I brewed a straight IPA last night that I was planning on providing instead of the double IPA (providing it turns out OK).

It looks like I will be out of town on business that day, so I may need to drop off the beer with someone the night before.
