For the club's July 2015 meeting we'll be visiting the new Brixton Brewing located within the Hollywood Gardens bar in Rochester, PA on Sunday, July 26th at 2:00 PM. They have a nice looking shiny new 3BBL Stout Tanks and Kettles setup that's worth checking out.
Please RSVP here if you're coming.
As always, bring plenty of homebrew to share. Come hungry & thirsty - the Hollywood Gardens has a good selection of craft drafts and a full menu. Buying yourself a pint at the bar and some food from the kitchen shows we appreciate them letting us meet at their site.
Water. Everyone has lots of questions about brewing water. This was one of the top requested toipcs from the survey we conducted earlier this year. At this meeting club secretary Malcolm Frazer will moderate a brewing water 101 discussion, focusing on details like why brewing water composition matters, what salts you use, how, why, and when to add them, and what role pH plays in brewing. Malcolm has been focusing heavily on brewing water for the past year or two and is happy to share what he's learned. He recently received praise from John Palmer for the results of a brewing water experiment on the Brulosophy web site and appeared on Basic Brewing Radio discussing said experiment. So if you're interested in brewing water come out to this meeting and join the discussion!
