  • TRASH Picnic / August Meeting

    Saturday, August 5th, 2017 at 12pm - 5pm
Location: "Den" Shelter, Boyce Park , Monroeville PA

The club's 2017 Summer Picnic will be held at the Den shelter on Centerview Drive in Boyce Park on Saturday, August 5th at 12:00pm.  The shelter sits on a slight uphill with a level area around the shelter. It is located on Centerview Drive with parking spots along side the road downhill from the shelter.

This is a family friendly event.  We'll have a brief meeting to go over general annoucements, but this is mainly a chance to get together, share some beer and food, and have a good time.  And have a homebrew gear swap meet!

The picnic is open to everyone - members and guests alike.

All food will be done pot-luck style. We had a great potluck last year.  Let's do it again! Post what your bringing here.

We're a homebrew club, so bring homebrew!  Glass containers are prohibited in all county parks, so bring your beer in kegs, stainless growlers, or plastic bottles.  One and two liter soda bottles work great as disposable growlers to fill from your kegs, and 20 ounce soda bottles work well for bottle-conditioning beer.  The club will provide some non alcoholic drinks - soda & bottled water.

    Swap Meet
We're going to hold a homebrew swap meet / yard sale / flea market / what-have-you at the picnic.  If you have homebrew gear you're looking to sell or trade, bring it!  If you're looking to buy anything, bring cash!  Table space may be short in the pavilion, so if you're setting up to sell stuff bring a folding table for it if you can.  You can post what you're bringing for the swap meet here.

    TRASHY Award
The kegged homebrew voted by popular opnion to be the best one gets the coveted TRASHY Award!

If you have picnic / cookout games, bring them!  Cornhole, horseshoes, frisbee, hackey sack, wiffleball, whatever.  Anyone have a set of Jarts?  Keg toss!

    See you there!
